Three great things about today's ride

Filigree of oak against the pale blue sky
A passing train tempting me into a sprint
The half-grown moon looking over my shoulder

  1. I don't know if you meant it to be one, but this is a lovely poem.

  2. Thank you so much, Lolly.

It was unintentional poetry. I think these things out while cycling, as a kind of mental diversion, trying to capture, in the best and fewest words, some favourite images or feelings from each ride. Some rides are prosy and some are poetic, I guess. Kind of like life. :)

  3. I love that you think of things like this while you're out riding! Haiku must come naturally to you!
